System performance resources such as Time, Clock Speed, Cache Space and IO Bandwidth contribute to how quickly a software entity runs and at what energy level. Allocating more resources than needed results in higher energy consumption and overall system inefficiency while insufficient resources may endanger the correct operation of the system. The VMX OS enhancing Framework consists of a series of tools and libraries embedded with the resident Operating System and a Developer's Toolkit. It has been ported to the Linux 2.6.x kernel to create a performance-managed Linux platform with extended real-time and security/high-availability features. An Android version will be available soon.
